Intern and WWOOFing Opportunities

Apprentices will gain the knowledge and experience to operate their own farm. Our education approach is very hands on. We work together and apprentices will gain experience in organic gardening, greenhouses, sustainable soil management, small-scale orchard management, mushroom propagation, food preservation, cooking, bee keeping. Sue and Emma have complementary skill sets and are excited to share their skills and experience.

We are open to carving out more formal space for learning through skill-shares and visits to other farms. We have an extensive farm library from which apprentices are encouraged to borrow.

We share bountiful lunches as a farm crew. Farm produce as well as staples (rice, oats, beans, oil) are provided for breakfasts/dinners and days off.

Apprentices will live with Emma in the crew area, which has a lovely cabin that serves as the common area and kitchen. There is also a shower, and washer/dryer cabin. Each apprentice will have a small sleeping cabin, trailer, or open-air sleeping platform.

Hours worked/week ~40

Apprenticeship: April – October

If you or someone you know is looking for somewhere to learn about organic farming, please call Sue at 250.537.5942 or email duckcreek@gmail.com.

Thanks! We’ll see you in the field 🙂
